About

The IRF Roundtable

Founded in 2010, The International Religious Freedom (IRF) Roundtable is a proven platform for bringing people together - across deep political and theological differences - and building mutual understanding, respect, trust, and reliance among citizens, communities, and governments. In fact, it is a model of good citizenship and governance that will contribute to the long-term security and economic interests of all countries and regions.

We gather as an informal group of individuals from all faiths and none, including governments, to discuss IRF issues under Chatham House Rules.

We have representatives from over 1,200 different organizations and have launched over 350 multi-faith initiatives including - multi-faith letters, multi-faith campaigns and multi-faith events. These have been deployed by and for people from across the theological and political spectrum as well as across the globe.

We regularly engage the U.S. government, urging its leaders to prioritize religious freedom in foreign policy and national security. We also work with foreign governments, including authoritarian governments that are restricting religion, helping them to improve their laws to secure the rights of all.

This multi-faith approach has led to a high number of legislative successes in the United States, working with both Democratic and Republican administrations and Members of Congress. We have also seen substantial changes in laws and policies abroad.

The IRF Roundtable is independent and does not represent any other government or religion. All activities are participant-led, on an opt-in basis. We welcome all faiths and none to the table and ensure everyone’s voice is heard equally.
