Letter to call for Congressional hearing regarding State Department’s exclusion of India and NIgeria on CPC list
Persecution International Christian Concern circulated a letter regarding the recent release of the United States Department of State's Countries of Particular Concern (CPC) list and the Special Watch List (SWL) disregarding and excluding Nigeria and India.
Nigeria and India have been rocked by alarming instances of religious violence and persecution. Pursuant to the International Religious Freedom Act, both countries meet the statutory definition of “engaging in or tolerating particularly severe violations of religious freedom” to be designated as CPC.1 They should be designated as such.
